Jill's work investigates social landscapes and the psycho-geography inherent in contemporary urban environments. She is interested in the ubiquitous, artificial landscapes of contemporary urban society: office buildings, supermarkets, shopping centres. Their design often goes unnoticed, yet architects carefully plan public space to fit specific sociological needs, shaping our paths of movement, perceptions and how we interact with each other.
Born in San Francisco, Jill studied at the San Francisco Art Institue before graduating in art semiotics from Brown University (Rhode Island) in 1998. She then completed her MA in design studies at Central Saint Martins College, London in 2003.
Jill's work has also been shown in the Still Lights and Lair of the Minotaur galleries in San Francisco, The Soho Photo Gallery in New York (where she was a finalist in an international photography competition) and the Deluxe and Spitz galleries in London. She currently lives and works in New York City.
